This page describes the current public Japan Source Signal website, an independent project operated by Brenden Kaaikala. It explains the site's present features and services rather than making a promise about every external website.
Browsing the site
You do not need an account to read the site. There are no account-registration, payment, recruitment-application or document-upload forms. Area and keyword filters work with saved records in your browser. Do not enter private application details into a search field.
Usage statistics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand visits, page views and page performance. The owner can view aggregate reports by page, referring site, country, device type, browser and operating system. These reports help show which content people reach and whether pages load well; a visit count is not a count of unique people.
Cloudflare's analytics documentation explains how its browser beacon collects performance information and reports site traffic. Cloudflare says Web Analytics does not track individual users across its customers' websites. See its data collection explanation and reported dimensions.
Japan Source Signal does not add an application analytics cookie, advertising tracker or individual visitor profile. Live advertising is currently disabled. Finding opens and clicks to official sources are not currently recorded as custom events. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not currently log URL query strings; see the Cloudflare Web Analytics FAQ.
Hosting and operational data
Cloudflare hosts the public site and processes requests needed to deliver it. Hosting and operational logging are separate from the aggregate reports described above. Cloudflare explains its handling of data in its privacy policy.
Official sources and other external links
Official-source links lead to government or other external websites. Those services have their own privacy practices, cookies and application processes. If you submit information there, you are submitting it to that service, not to Japan Source Signal. Review the destination's notices before providing personal information.
Changes to this information
This description should be reviewed when the site's data collection or services change. It does not describe future advertising or account features.
